Examination and Promotion Policy

Regular periodical will be held in addition to the May and December unit Test and Terminal Examination in September and February every academic year.
Pupils absent from an examination for any reason are not re-examined, and those who absent themselves from an examination without valid, grave and genuine reason will be considered as having failed. In case of illness a medical certificate issued by a competent authority will have to be produce. This does not guarantee promotion.
No candidate will be admitted to any of the examination unless all school dues have been paid in full.
Willful breaking of any of the regulation for the conduct of examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination hall or, if subsequently discovered with cancellation of the paper.
The students are strictly forbidden to borrow any writing and stationary articles from other student in the examination hall.
Copying consulting anyone and carrying answer slips to the examination hall will be liable for punishment such as detention in the same class or expulsion from the school.
Application for the verification of marks may be considered in special cases at the discretion of the principal.
The year’s work will be taken into account for drawing music, craft, dance and physical education. No separate examination will be held in these subjects at the end of each term. Grades will be awarded for these subjects.

The condition for eligibility for promotion are as follows:
- No student is generally eligible to appear in the school Terminal Examination unless she/he has attended at least 75% of the actual teaching/working days in a session as per the school calendar.
- In genuine cases the principal may, however, condone the shortage in attendance not exceeding 10% of the actual teaching/working days of a session.
Promotion to a higher class depends upon:
- Regularity in attendance.
- Regularity and quality of day-to-day participation n the class.
- Opinion of teachers concerned.
- Written work and projects assigned by the subject teachers (Sessionai marks are based on A,B,C and grades).
- Besides the two terminal examinations, the weight age of the unit tests will be taken into consideration for promotion to the next class.
- A candidate falling in one or two subjects may be given promotion provided she/he has secured at least 35% of marks in each of the subject in which she/he has failed and has maintained an aggregate of 40%.
- Internal or sessional marks in each subject.
Results declared at the end of the year are final in all cases and will not be reconsidered.
A student falling twice in the same class will have to discontinue her/his studies at the school.
Parents are required to sign the progress report cards of their wards each time they come for the parent-teacher meet.
